Need tax advice?

                                                                              Your tax return filed?

If it is July, this is a good time for those whose total itemized deductions are close to the standard deduction to review the timing of payments. You can save taxes by timing the payment of deductible expenses such as charitable donations and state taxes. Bundle them in one year and itemize deductions, and take standard deduction the next year.

Did you file an extension?  Time to file your taxes will be here before you know it.  Why not begin now?
Your filing deadline with an extension is October 15th to complete your return.   This is only an extension to file, not an extension to pay.  If you have a tax liability you will continue to be charged interest and penalties on anything you owe.   Why not begin now?

A good first start is to locate last year's tax return. Have there been any major changes in your life? Make a checklist of what you need, such as W-2 and 1099 R forms, interest and dividend income, medical, dental and prescription expenses, child care costs, home sale or purchase documents as well as mortgage and property tax statements, business expenses, pension and retirement information. Now you are ready to call or email us for an appointment.

Did you take advantage of Cash For Clunkers? We can get you an additional credit for new car purchases after Feb 19, 2009.

We offer very reasonable rates.  We only charge for the forms you use.  Notary Services available.

Did you know it is not too late to file old returns?  You can still file tax returns for 2009, 2008, and 2007.  The IRS gives taxpayers a firm deadline of three years from the original due date to wrap up any extensions and get final paperwork mailed .

    New in Town?
Asheville continues to be a very popular retirement location.  We are experts in filing state tax returns no matter where you lived last year, or even the year before.
